Purpose
Grey Duck exists to support lawful community organizing, mutual aid coordination, and protected speech for Minnesota communities.
Prohibited Activities
By using Grey Duck, you agree NOT to:
- Plan, coordinate, or promote violence against any person
- Share child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Coordinate human trafficking or exploitation
- Plan or execute terrorism
- Engage in illegal drug trafficking
- Harass, stalk, or dox specific individuals
- Violate any applicable laws
Users who violate these terms will be removed immediately and may be reported to authorities.
Privacy
We commit to:
- End-to-end encryption on all private conversations
- Minimal logging (connection data only, purged regularly)
- No tracking, analytics, or advertising
- No sale of any data
- No federation with external servers
Law Enforcement
We will:
- Comply with valid legal process (warrants, court orders)
- Report CSAM to NCMEC as required by law
- Notify users of requests when legally permitted
We will NOT:
- Voluntarily share information without valid legal process
- Monitor or access encrypted conversations (we cannot)
- Cooperate with informal requests or fishing expeditions
Limitations
Grey Duck cannot protect you from:
- Compromised or seized devices
- Screenshots taken by other participants
- Information you share publicly
- Your own operational security mistakes
Liability
Grey Duck is provided as-is, without warranty. We are not responsible for user-generated content in encrypted rooms that we cannot access or moderate. Use at your own risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance. Major changes will be announced in #announcements.
